The waning days of summer before senior year of high school is a perfect time to start filling out the Common Application, or “Common App.” It can be found at www.commonapp.org. The Common App is accepted at a large number of colleges and universities. Many schools will also use the Common App to collect basic demographic information about an applicant and will then use supplements that are pertinent to those particular schools.
Since the Common App requires completing quite a bit of background information, getting started on it now can really help alleviate some of the first semester senior year overload. It also might help students begin thinking about their college essays.
