college admissions, college essays, common app, college adviceFinally, an acknowledgement that character counts in the hyped up world of college admissions.   Harvard  recently released a report entitled “Turning the Tide Inspiring Concern for Others and the Common Good Through College Admissions”.   In publishing the article, The authors acknowledge the intense pressure we place on our high school students to pad their resumes with an insane number of activities, AP classes, and “unique” experiences all in an attempt to gain admission to the most selective colleges in the country.   Most college admissions personnel are able to see beyond students’ packaging and find the truly authentic and human candidates most deserving of admission.  It is about time.
