Grads and their families celebrate at the popular Terrace at Memorial Union

Saturday was a huge day for my family and I.  We attended my oldest son’s college graduation.    My son is now a proud alumnae of the University of Wisconsin on Madison.   As a large state school, the commencement was typically huge and in Camp Randall, the much loved football stadium.    Once the ceremony started the uniqueness of UW Madison was evident in the tremendous school spirit and good cheer.  The highlight was 3/4 into the ceremony when all of the graduates began to “jump around” in classic Wisconsin fashion.    Experiencing graduation in Madison reminded me of what I love about this a school.  There is such a terrific mix of academics and fun.   Although the admissions standards get tougher every year and Wisconsin is known to be challenging in upper level classes, there is a sense of fun that pervades the campus atmosphere.  Set in the fun and funky town of Madison, U of W is a perfect place to spend 4 years.
