Princeton University, college planning, college consultants, counselors, educational consultantsOn our way to Philadelphia from New York, we stopped over in Princeton, New Jersey, to roam around a little and get a sense of the imposing Princeton University.   We were initially put off by the guard posted at one of the gates, who told us we needed to park our car and take a shuttle through campus.  This made us promptly turn around and leave.   No shuttle for my impatient bunch.

Fortunately, due to a necessary pit stop, we found ourselves at the unimpressive school bookstore.  This was the only thing unimpressive about Princeton.  The campus architecture is beautiful.   There are ivy-covered buildings everywhere on campus and magnificent quads reminiscent of those at Oxford.

The town adjacent is an upscale campus town – the Lululemon on Main Street a dead giveaway for the wealth of the surroundings.  Princeton is a wealthy suburb and not just the home of the elitist Ivy League university.    For those smart enough to gain admission, Princeton is a quieter, less hectic, setting than Yale or Harvard.   If you are interested in finding out more, see Princeton’s website.  An interesting fact:  The movie “Admission” is based on an admissions officer’s experience there.   Some of the scenes were filmed there as well.
